IV Sedation

What is IV sedation?

IV sedation stands for intravenous conscious sedation, in which sedation medication is delivered directly into your bloodstream. This is done by inserting an extremely thin needle into one of your veins, from which the medication flows through. After the initial pinch of the needle, this process should be relatively comfortable and pain-free.

What does IV sedation feel like?

IV sedation is generally considered a very deep form of sedation and produces feeling of profound relaxation and calm. With IV sedation, you will not usually be able to remember the treatment at all. We will work closely with you to determine what type of sedation works best for you and your comfort level. To learn more about IV sedation and all of the ways we foster a relaxing environment at our office, call or visit us today at Plattsburgh Dental Plaza.
